How mugabi ministries began

Joel's Story
"I am a 29 year old Christian man educated up to the high school level of Uganda. I grew up with my grandmother up to the age of 17 and later on came to Jinja town to work and further my education. I did many kinds of hard jobs for fees- survival and support for my grandmother until late of 2010 when I started driving up to today as my better job." |
" I choose to do this ministry and work with Elders for the CARE and FRIENDSHIP I feel about them and the LOVE of extending God's (Jesus') LOVE, CONCERN, and TEACHING about the needy. I could always see these kind and friendly elders who were abandoned, weak, and without families in and around the villages where I grew up and even in nearby villages of Jinja when I started living here, looking for food, clothes, medicine and shelter sometimes. That's why I get and feel tears of joy when I see a smile on these hopeless people's faces FEELING LOVED and CARED FOR as the Bible teaches."

Ben and Molly's Story
"Around June 2016, God started putting Africa on my heart. I started talking to my mentor and after two months I knew God was calling my wife and I to visit Jinja, Uganda. I started to reach out to ministries out in Jinja. Through this we met Klint from Heart for Uganda, teaching Farming God's Way. Fast forward to June of 2017 and we landed in Uganda. Klint had arranged us a driver for the week we were there. Our driver drove us around as we walked through the markets and visited different ministries and organizations. |
There were some great ministries, Heart for Uganda being one of them, but none of them felt like that is why God had called us to Uganda. One morning as I was praying the Lord showed me Matthew 25:35-40. I started to pray that God would use me in this way; that my calling was to help "feed the hungry, welcome the homeless and give water to the thirsty..." On the last day in Uganda we still did not find our calling of why we were in Uganda. On the way to the airport our driver, Joel, started telling us about his ministry. It was in this moment that I started to pray and smile. I knew this was why God had called us to Uganda. He wanted us to be patient and trust Him before He revealed His why to us. I turned around in the car and looked at Molly, she was also smiling and she knew this was our calling. "
